Our Approach

You are a unique individual

The way we work is unique. We know because our clients often tell us so. Unfortunately, that uniqueness is difficult to describe. However, our approach to our work is more easily explained.

We ask your body for change rather than demanding or forcing change. Have you ever felt safe or comfortable being forced to do anything? Neither does your body. Asking your body to respond in a compassionate manner achieves subtle yet profound results.

We address the whole you, not just the part that came in with the problem. Your body is incredibly interconnected, and where you feel a problem may not be where it starts. If your tailbone is causing your migraines, do you really only want us to address your neck? It’s the difference between fair results and great results.

We take the time to find out about you and what you hope to achieve at Kinesic Therapies. W also make sure we’re on the same page when it comes to realistic and achievable results.

Each session is tailored to you and your needs. We don’t just stick to standard, textbook protocols because you don’t just have standard, textbook issues.

We educate you about what’s happening with your body and how you can manage it on you own whenever possible.

We are honest about how much we think we can help you. We believe whole heartedly in what we do, but we also know it doesn’t work for everyone. You shouldn’t waste money on something that won’t work or isn’t working for you. We’ll suggest you go back to your doctor when appropriate or suggest another type of therapy whenever possible. You deserve to feel better even if we don’t get to be your hero.

Guiding Belief and Values

You are a person, not as a set of symptoms. We don’t lose sight of the fact that you are unique and no one else in the world is exactly like you. Consequently, the approach that works for you may be very different from the approach that works for someone else with the “same” problem.

Relaxation is essential to healing. Bodywork should never be a version of torture. Research shows that too much pain inflicted during therapy actually slows the body’s ability to heal.

Nutritional and herbal suggestions should be clear, simple, and affordable. Confusing, complicated, and expensive? We wouldn’t follow those instructions, either.

You are your own healer, and you never lose that ability no matter how damaged or old you are. We stimulate and facilitate your ability to heal and function as optimally as your body can.

Our work can have a life-changing impact on you, and we take that responsibility seriously. Releasing physical issues often releases the mental and emotional blocks that hold you back or keep you stuck. Watching people grow and open to the beauty inside is one of the greatest privileges of our jobs.

The best therapy happens when your healthcare providers, counselors, and complementary therapists work together with respect for each other and you.

We can’t do this without you. How much you improve depends heavily on your desire to be well and a positive attitude. Hope and optimism are invaluable and can overcome a lot. We help you focus on the positive things you experience during your healing process so you won’t be frustrated and miss the little things that often indicate major changes are occurring.

You should laugh every day!
